* Hourly Rate: £12.30 per hour
* Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
* Hours per Week: Permanent, 35 hours per week
* Shifts: Nights, 7.30pm-7.45am
About the care home:
An amazing opportunity has become available for dedicated female care assistants to join Xealthcare’s well respected clients nursing home, on a permanent full-time contract to cover night shifts. The nursing home is located in an easily commutable area within Newcastle upon Tyne.
Our care provider’s medium sized home offers residential, dementia and nursing care for elderly residents, tailored to suit a range of personal needs. The care assistants and nursing team takes pride in providing a supportive and enjoyable environment where the elderly residents can thrive and enjoy life to the fullest. Following their most recent CQC inspection the care home has been rated ‘GOOD’ with OUTSTANDING care.
Position: Healthcare Assistant
As a healthcare assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and assistance to our client’s residents. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, administering medication, supporting daily activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of our residents. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our client’s residents and contribute to their health and happiness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
* Administering medication in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
* Supporting residents with daily activities, such as meal preparation, eating, and mobility.
* Monitoring and recording residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
* Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
* Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
* Collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Requirements:
* NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Health & Social Care is required, but candidates with strong experience are encouraged to apply.
* Prior experience in a care setting or similar role is preferred.
* Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
* Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
