Three new good practice guides for those working with people with mental ill health or learning disability were published by the Mental Welfare Commission.
The documents are aimed at health professionals and care staff, and are intended to share good practice across Scotland.
The guides are:
- Working with Independent Advocates – An update on Commission guidance for working with independent advocates.
- Preparation of Care Plans for People subject to Compulsory Care and Treatment -This document is primarily for Responsible Medical Officers (RMOs), but may be of interest to other mental health professionals.
- Decisions about technology– This document discusses good practice when considering the use of telecare and assistive technology for people with dementia, learning disabilities and related disorders.
All three documents are published on the MWC website. The latter two are also available in hard copy.
