Report: Scotland’s Carers report released

The Scotland’s Carers report, and Official Statistics Publication, has been released.

The report covers statistical analysis and research on caring and presents information on who provides care in Scotland and indicates that there are over 759,000 carers aged 16 and over in Scotland.

The report shows:

    there are an estimated 759,000 carers aged 16+ in Scotland – 17% of the adult population
    there are an estimated 29,000 young carers in Scotland – 4% of the child population (aged 4-15)
    there are estimated to be over 171,000 carers aged 16+ caring for 35 hours a week or more.
