New Book: Dementia care specialist launches new book

A leading contributor to the advances in best practice in dementia care over recent years, Caroline Baker has launched a new book, “Developing Excellent Care for People Living with Dementia in Care Homes.”

The book highlights the principles, practice and positive outcomes of the specialist dementia care programme that she devised and delivers with the dementia care team at Four Seasons Health Care, where she is Director of Dementia Care.

Caroline Baker said: “I am grateful to Four Seasons for supporting me to share this learning to help wider understanding of dementia care. With a new case of dementia being diagnosed every three minutes there is an increasing need for specialised care. Whilst, my book contains best practice and advice for carers providing care in care homes, the principles can also be applied to professional carers looking after someone within their own home.”

“Developing excellent care for people living with dementia in care homes” is available to purchase on Amazon with proceeds being donated by the author to charity. A signed copy of the book was recently sold for £1000 at a charity auction held at Mere Golf and Spa resort in Knutsford.

Caroline Baker was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award at the 2013 National Dementia Awards for dedicating her career to improving the quality of care for people living with dementia.
