A Report on Social Work Education in England 2009-10: A summary

Seven years since the social work degree admitted its first students, social work education and training continues to receive a great deal of attention from the sector. As the regulator of social work education in England, the General Social Care Council (GSCC) is playing a vital role in shaping education regulation reform.

The GSCC regulates the degree by monitoring higher education institutions (HEIs) to make sure they meet required standards. This digest summarises data collected by the GSCC during 2008-09 whilst undertaking this role. It also reports on enrolments during the period 2009-10.
