People with Mental Health Conditions and Pathways to Work

This report presents findings from a qualitative research project carried out as part of a wider evaluation of Jobcentre Plus Pathways to Work. The study was conducted in 2008 and 2009 to explore how Jobcentre Plus Pathways to Work may better meet the needs of the heterogeneous mental health client group. The study was conducted by researchers from the Policy Studies Institute and deployed an iterative qualitative research design including interviews with a range of Jobcentre Plus and non-Jobcentre Plus staff working with people with mental health conditions, incapacity benefit claimants with mental health conditions and strategic and service provider workshops.
