Survey: New CELCIS study to explore challenges facing foster carers in Scotland
Foster carers in Scotland are being asked to take part in a new study which aims to explore the unique circumstances and challenges that come with caring for children and young people at a time when they may be vulnerable.
Researchers from the Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland (CELCIS), based at the University of Strathclyde, in collaboration with Lucia Hargašová, a visiting researcher from the Slovak Academy of Sciences, will be conducting the qualitative study: Relationships in Foster Care Professional Role.
The study aims to understand the complexity of foster care, how foster carers feel about their role, and what a good relationship between a child and a foster carer looks like.
Foster carers are being asked to complete a short questionnaire online.
As well as an online questionnaire, foster carers will also have the opportunity to discuss their role in an in-depth interview at a later stage.
