Report: New adults’ and children’s services data reports (Scotland)
The Scottish Social services Council (SSSC) has published two new workforce data reports; one on children’s services and the other on adults’ services.
The data in these reports supplements data already published in the annual Scottish Social Service Sector: Report on 2016 Workforce Data (SSSC, September 2017). The reports have been published in response to requests for more information on some adults and children’s services.
Adults’ Services Workforce 2016
This is the first time the SSSC have published this report which provides a more detailed breakdown of the workforce in care homes for adults and in housing support and care at home services. In previous years the material on housing support and care at home was a separate chapter within the annual workforce data report.
Children’s Services Workforce 2016
This is the second edition of this report; which was first published in March 2017. New this year is the inclusion of a separate section on the workforce in early learning and childcare services. These are a subset of day care of children services and there is particular interest in this area with the Scottish Government’s planned expansion of free childcare provision in the next few years.
