Leicester approve new Distance Learning Postgraduate course in Diabetes Care
The University of Leicester has approved a new distance learning degree which will equip you with the knowledge, confidence and skills to specialise in diabetes care.
The Distance Learning PGCert/PGDip/MSc in Diabetes is being facilitated by the Leicester Diabetes Centre, which is one of Europe’s largest diabetes facilities offering ground-breaking research and dynamic clinical services.
Participants will benefit from the specialist knowledge of the experienced and high profile academic staff from the Centre and the University of Leicester. The ongoing research published by the Leicester Diabetes Centre ensures that all the online materials will be relevant and up to date.
This degree comprises a range of approved, accredited modules, combining the most topical thinking around clinical care and research in adults with practical examples of how novel research and evidence-based diabetes care can be applied in real life, clinical settings.
The core modules look at aspects of clinical presentation and management in diabetes with a further core module investigating injectable therapies. Option modules look at prevention of diabetes, foundation research and self-management and lifestyle behaviour change.
Professor Heather Daly and Dr David Webb, Programme Leads of the Distance Learning Courses said: “These courses increase knowledge, skills and confidence in diabetes care and the introduction of the Distance Learning Programme means that people can enjoy greater flexibility of study.
“This Distance Learning Programme combines the most topical and up-to-date thinking around clinical care and research with practical examples of how novel research and evidence-based diabetes care can be applied in real life, clinical settings. Students will also gain transferable skills.”
The courses are now open to recruit students for October 2016.
