Places still available for UWS Mental Health and Education programme

The University of the West of Scotland’s (UWS) MSc Mental Health and Education programme still has places available for start this September.

The online professional learning course, the only one of its kind in the UK, offers a flexible study opportunity for associated practitioners with an applied interest in both mental health and education.

The programme focuses on the nature of mental health in learning, teaching, and training environments and how this might impact on learners, leaders of learning, mentors and other disciplinary groups such as psychologists, health professionals, managers and social workers.

Delivered by the University’s School of Education and School of Health, Nursing & Midwifery, the programme is ideal for practitioners working with children young people and adults in challenging environments in roles such as youth workers, police officers, correctional officers, child protection officers and staff from the voluntary and third sectors.

Programme Leader Dr Yonah Matemba said: “Our MSc in Mental Health and Education is the ideal professional learning qualification for those practitioners working with young people and adults in a variety of challenging environments.”

The programme has three exit points: Postgraduate Certificate; Postgraduate Diploma and full MSc.
