Skills for Care launch new NMDS-SC videos and animations
Skills for Care has launched a series of new, short film clips to help adult social care employers get the most out of using the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC).
The majority of employers regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have signed up to NMDS-SC but Skills for Care is aware that many don’t use the system to its full potential. They told us in a survey that the top four benefits of using all the NMDS-SC functions were accessing funding for training, evidencing workforce quality, profile building with service commissioners and business and workforce planning.
One of the film clips features an interview with CQC’s Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care Andrea Sutcliffe pointing out the value of NMDS-SC so employers don’t have to submit their data twice.
Employers Anita Astle MBE and Ian Turner, Chair of the Registered Nursing Homes Association, talk about the benefits of NMDS-SC for their organisations.
Skills for Care has also produced three short animated films exploring what NMDS-SC is, how to use NMDS-SC dashboards, which offer an easy way to view and compare data from other employers and a film about their free support service.
Skills for Care CEO Sharon Allen said: “The NMDS-SC data provided by employers is vital so we can plan future workforce needs, but we are also acutely aware that some employers may not be aware of the variety of online functions that can help their business plan to thrive in the current tough economic climate.
The new films are designed to help employers who may have registered, but need some help finding their way round the system, understand that they can access free and friendly support either online, or by simply making a phone call.”
