Welsh health board issues warning over payments recruitment scam

Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University (ABMU) Health Board has issued a warning to job applicants from overseas.

The Health Board say a ‘recruitment scam’ is targeting healthcare workers with false job offers at ABMU hospitals, subject to them making payments in respect of bogus registration or visa sponsorship fees.

The advice for anyone receiving an unsolicited offers of employment with ABMU is to contact the Health Board before taking any further action. On no account should any advance payments be made.

The matter has now been reported to ActionFraud to investigate further.

ABMU employ 16,000 staff over four acute hospitals and are one of the biggest health organisations in the UK.

They are responsible for primary care services for around 600,000 people in the Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend areas. ABMU also provide a wide range of acute, specialist and tertiary services.
