Operation Pallial: Man, 60, arrested over child cruelty

A 60-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of child cruelty by officers investigating alleged historical sexual abuse in north Wales care homes.
The man, from Oswestry, Shropshire, was arrested by officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA), as part of Operation Pallial.

The offences are alleged to have taken place against three boys aged 15 to 16, between 1978 and 1984.

Thursday’s arrest was the 14th made by Operation Pallial officers.

The National Crime Agency launched the investigation last November to look at allegations relating to 18 care homes between 1963 and 1992.

One person has so far been charged with serious sexual offences.
