Social worker who placed sexual predator with young family found guilty of misconduct
A social worker who did not warn a family their children were at risk before allowing a sexual predator to live with them has been found guilty of misconduct.
Julian Swan denied not reading the case files of the 19 year old – referred to only as B – and that he had failed to undertake an “appropriate risk assessment”.
This morning in Cardiff, committee chairman Gareth Newton told Mr Swan, now sacked from Vale of Glamorgan social services, they had found the facts “proved”, and later ruled he was guilty of misconduct on all charges.
After B was sent to live with the family in the Vale of Glamorgan he seriously sexually assaulted their two children.
B, who had a history of “inappropriate sexual behaviour”, has since been jailed.
