Welsh Government commission IPC to research outcomes for looked after children
The Institute of Public Care (IPC) at Oxford Brookes University has been commissioned by Welsh Government to undertake a large scale evaluation of outcomes for looked after children including:
- A comparison of intended and actual placement outcomes for all children who came into care over a one year period
- A more in-depth evaluation of all child outcomes and factors influencing these for a proportion of the children who came into care during that one year period
Over the coming months, IPC will be working closely with colleagues in Local Authorities across Wales, CAFCASS Cymru, and HM Courts and Tribunals Service to achieve this ambitious project.
