Quarriers strengthens board with appointments of new trustees

Leading Scottish charity Quarriers has strengthened its board with the appointment of five new trustees following a recent recruitment campiagn.

With backgrounds in finance, advocacy, social services, PR and property, the new members of the board are:

  •     Linda Bailey, CEO, Partners in Advocacy
  •     Marjorie Calder, Director, OceanBlue Consulting
  •     Alan Frizzell, Director of Finance, The Edrington Group
  •     Andrew Kubski, Development Services Manager, City Property (Glasgow)
  •     Murray Leys, Social Services Consultant
  •     George Peacock, Head of Property, The British Red Cross Society

Commenting on the appointments, Tom Scholes OBE, Chair of Quarriers’ Board of Trustees, said: “The trustees are such an important part of everything Quarriers does and I’m very pleased with the calibre of those joining the board. They will bring invaluable experience and expertise to an already impressive team and I look forward to working closely with them all to ensure Quarriers remains at the forefront of Scotland’s third sector.”

Quarriers Chief Executive, Alice Harper, added: “With a large and diverse portfolio of services, Quarriers needs a Board of Trustees which reflects its needs and our new trustees will be of great benefit to the charity’s governance and strategic ambitions.

“Due to ever-changing external factors, we are constantly reviewing how we work, and with the collective expertise now at our disposal we are in a great position to continue to change and adapt to meet the needs of health and social care.
