Sacro launches strategy to develop volunteering throughout its operations
Scottish community justice organisation, Sacro, has published a Volunteering Strategy to help guide its work over the next five years. The Strategy aims to recognise the contribution of volunteers within its services and formally establishes the organisation’s ongoing commitment to volunteering.
The Strategy sets out its key strategic priorities for the next five years to:
- Embed a culture of volunteering across Sacro;
- Enhance training, support, involvement and reward of Sacro volunteers;
- Build awareness and reputation of Sacro volunteering in the community.
Tom Halpin, Sacro’s Chief Executive (pictured) said “The contribution of volunteers to the work we do is immeasurable. Sacro’s volunteers provide us with much more than their time, energy and commitment. The skills and knowledge they bring has a very positive effect on the lives of those who access our services. Sacro’s commitment to volunteering is ongoing and in implementing this strategy, we are seeking to embed the importance of volunteers in every aspect of our operations.”
Sacro will be holding a series of events at its offices across Scotland where staff, volunteers and partners will meet together for a local launch of the Volunteering Strategy.
