Ayr private hospital gets positive inspection

Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) has praised the Partnerships in Care (PiC) Clinic in Ayr following an unannounced inspection in January this year.

HIS assessed the service against five quality themes related to regulations and the National Care Standards. Inspectors noted patients were involved in most aspects of their care and there was a positive staff culture.

Chief Inspector Susan Brimelow said: “This was a positive inspection which has identified areas where PiC Ayr Clinic is performing well. During our visit, we found robust policies and procedures in place to manage risk and saw evidence that patients are involved in most aspects of their care.

“We found a positive staff culture and patients told us that they were treated with dignity and respect.”

However, the report also noted improvements were required in administration and staff appraisals.

The Clinic offers nursing, psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy, social work, education and physical healthcare providing care for to up to 36 patients over three wards – one male only, one female only and one mixed.
