Project seeks frontline experience in delivering care

The Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (IRISS) are undertaking a project titled ‘The View From Here’ which aims to understand practitioners’ experiences of delivering care and support in Scotland.

This project asks people, over one week, to record their experiences of delivering care and support using qualitative, creative methods with the hope of learning from their experience and perspective.

This group of staff will then have the chance to be heard on a national platform, and IRISS want to develop a greater insight as to how they might support this group better.

Part of this project will be to carry out a survey in partnership with the Guardian to reach a broad audience across Scotland.

However, they are aware that this survey is unlikely to reach the entire workforce – particularly those who work most closely with people who access support, and are taking a slightly different approach to engage with this particular group.

They are looking to recruit a wide range of front-line practitioners to undertake a more in-depth look at their day-to-day experiences of supporting people, and their views on a variety of topics. As part of this, they will be asking these people to record their experiences over one week in a qualitative way using diary and creative methods.
