Call to particapte in Scots care workforce survey
It is said that there are serious challenges in recruiting and retaining staff in Scotland’s social services, particularly affecting the independent sector. This is specifically in care homes, care at home, housing support and day care services for adults.
This survey run by Scottish Care is intended to help understand the nature and extent of this challenge and to inform national policy and local action in addressing the issues. It is being gathered at individual service level rather than corporately – this will help in analysing trends across Scotland.
This matter crosses all staff recruited to and working in the sector, including nurses (particularly in care homes) and there is a separate section on nurses at the end.
Although the survey should take no more than 30 minutes to complete, you will need to collate some information in advance of completing it online.
You may find it helpful to print the whole survey and complete the information on paper first, in order to make electronic inputting easier, thereafter. This will also leave you with a paper copy of your answers. You can input into the survey, save it at any point (so your information will not be lost) and then go back into it to complete it whenever you choose. However, when it is submitted it is final.
Nothing will be attributed back to your organisation, so you do not need to be concerned in this regard. The more you complete the questionnaire accurately the more rigorous it will be.
