Scottish Care announce their award winners for 2014

Scottish Care who represent independent healthcare providers across Scotland have announced their award winners at the National Care Home Conference this week.

The conference, which took place at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow, recognised the work of individuals and companies providing outstanding levels of care across the sector.

The 2014 winners of the following categories were as follows:

  • Care Newcomer of the Year – Emma Halley, Cumbernauld Care Home
  • Nutrition & Eating Well Award – Meallmore Group
  • Volunteer of the Year – Archie Potts, Charnwood Lodge
  • Ancillary & Support Staff Award – Brian Girvan & Jim Faulds
  • Meaningful Activity Award – Gwen Anderson, Queen’s Bay Lodge Care Home
  • Training & Staff Development Award – Leena Domun & Linda Matheson
  • Dementia Service Award – Kincaid House
  • Specialist Adult Service Award – Haydale Care Home
  • Care Home Resident Achievement – Joint Winners:
    •     Norman MacDonald, Bandrum Care Home
    •     Robert Dingwall, Pitlochry Care Home
    •     Christina Grant, The Village Care Centre
    •     Pat Brezney, Highgate Care Home
  • Partnership Award – Broomfield Court Care Home & Balornock Primary School
  • Management & Leadership Award – Clara MacKenzie, Asley House
  • Nurse of the Year – Carol Morgan, Croftbank House
  • Carer of the Year – Kelly Henderson, Carlingwark House
  • Lifetime Achievement Award – Elizabeth Roscoe, HC-One
