Call for abstracts for Scotland’s GIRFEC conference
Details of this years GIRFEC conference have been revealed. Taking place on Tuesday 4th November 2014 at the Stirling Management Centre, the key topic will be the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.
This legislation has profound implications for the way in which all services for children and young people will be configured and delivered across Scotland.
The conference will explore the challenges and opportunities created by the Act and will provide a critical space for debating and developing professional responses to the Act in policy, strategy and practice.
There will be a mix of presentations, interactive sessions and workshops covering the key themes of: working with the concept of wellbeing, the role of the named person, service information, sharing developing plans for children.
A follow-on conference in early 2015, specifically aimed at strategic managers, will examine developing practice and discourse in relation to the Act and the implications for planning and delivery of services for children and young people.
