12 home care agencies awarded East Lothian care contracts

East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership has confirmed the 12 agencies that will help deliver the Help to Live at Home service.

The Council has been consulting with service-users and care agencies about what sort of Help to Live At Home services people need and how those services can best be provided.

Following a nine-month consultation and tendering process, contracts have been offered to:

Allan Ross Nursing and Homecare Agency, Allied Healthcare, British Red Cross, Call In Homecare Agency, Carr Gomm, Care UK, Carewatch, Community Integrated Care, Cornerstone, Independent Living Services, Newcross Healthcare Solutions and Social Care Recruitment & Training.

East Lothian Council’s health and social care spokesperson Councillor Donald Grant said: “We will be working with all care providers to make sure that if there are any changes resulting from the new contracts that these changes are carefully managed.

“We believe that this presents an opportunity to tailor services to better meet people’s individual needs and make it much more about trying to achieve outcomes for each person.”
