Care at home and housing support supervisors to register in 2014

The Scottish Government has announced that supervisors in care at home and housing support services will have to register with the Scottish Social Services Council, beginning in June 2014.

Precise dates for when registration will begin and when it must be completed by will be announced in the coming months, once the necessary legislation is passed.

The Scottish Government have made this early announcement to allow employers time to refine staff training plans to ensure employees are able to meet registration requirements.

Support workers in these services will become subject to SSSC registration in 2017.
