New heart disease resource on its way for social service workers

HEART-E project is a free heart disease educational resource that health professionals across Scotland can access.
This resource will enhance knowledge and clinical practice in the delivery of heart disease management.
The project has been funded through the National Advisory Committee for heart disease and is led by Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS). The seven modules are topic specific and include:
  • healthy heart and common cardiac investigations
  • primary prevention
  • stable coronary heart disease
  • acute coronary syndromes
  • cardiac rehabilitation
  • heart failure
  • palliative care in heart disease
The modules have been developed at a core level and the target participant group will be health and social care professionals who do not have specialist cardiac roles but require the knowledge and skills that allow them to offer person centred, evidenced informed management of patients who present with cardiac conditions.
The resource is due to be launched at the MCN Learning Forum on the 29 November at the Heart Disease Learning Forum, Stirling Management Centre.
