Lanarkshire recreives three dementia award nominations

Two NHS Lanarkshire-led dementia initiatives and a partnership, which involves NHS Lanarkshire, have been nominated in three categories at Scotland’s Dementia Awards 2013.
Over 90 applications were submitted for this year’s event with judges narrowing these down to a shortlist of three in each of six categories.

The shortlisted initiatives in Lanarkshire were the Age Specialist Service Emergency Team (ASSET), nominated in the Best Acute Care initiative for their work in providing short term care in patients’ homes; NHS Lanarkshire’s implementation of national training to meet local needs which was nominated in the Best Educational Initiative category; and The North Lanarkshire Partnership which was nominated in the Best Dementia Friendly Community Initiative.

The awards event is a partnership between Alzheimer Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland, NHS Health Scotland and Scottish Social Services Council.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on September 19. To find out more a visit www.ScotlandsDementiaAwards.org.uk
