Praise for social work teams in East Dunbartonshire
EAST Dunbartonshire Council’s Social Work service has been highly praised by inspectors.
Two care homes – John Street House and Ferndale – in Kirkintilloch were given high ratings by the Care Inspectorate.
In their report, inspectors awarded John Street House with two “very good” grades for the quality of environment and the quality of staffing.
The home provides support in a safe environment to adults who have a learning disability.
Ferndale care home was awarded four “very good” grades for the quality of care and support, environment, staffing and management and leadership.
It provides 24-hour care and support to nine children.
The local authority’s Mainstream Team was awarded three “very good” grades for the quality of care and support, the quality of staffing and the quality of management and leadership.
The Hospital Liaison Team had two “very good” grades for the quality of staffing and the quality of management and leadership.
Convener of East Dunbartonshire’s Social Work Committee, Councillor Michael O’Donnell, was “delighted” with the findings of the inspections.
He added: “This is a significant achievement and clearly shows that staff are providing services which are of a high standard and are valued.”
