NI social work awards open for nominations

This is your opportunity to publicly recognise a social work team or individual social worker whose practice demonstrates excellence in social work. Service users, carers, colleagues or employers who are nominating a team or individual will have the opportunity to acknowledge the positive contribution social workers have made for them.

These are the third Regional Social work Awards. This year there are nine award categories – four team awards, three individual awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by the Northern Ireland Association of Social Workers (NIASW). Shortlisted finalists will be invited to a gala lunch and awards presentation on Friday 20 September in The Guildhall, Derry/Londonderry (City of Culture 2013).

The awards are open to teams employing social workers or individual social workers who are currently working in the statutory, voluntary, private, education and training sectors in Northern Ireland. Applications are welcome from all areas of social work; you do not have to be working in a unique project to submit an application. Teams and individuals working in core social work teams/posts are encouraged to apply. Previous applicants are welcome to reapply if their application has a different practice focus.
