Investigation launched at West Dunbartonshire care centre
An investigation has been launched at a council-run care facility in West Dunbartonshire. The probe follows allegations from a member of the public against staff at the centre formerly known as Kilpatrick House in Alexandria.
It is understood the complaint, made in December, centres on the abuse of a resident in the council section of the unit. The investigation was launched immediately.
A council spokeswoman said: “Following an allegation against our staff, the West Dunbartonshire Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) instructed an investigation to be undertaken. The CHCP ensures the highest standards of safety and protection for all service users. During this process it would be inappropriate to make any further comment.”
Watchdog the Care Inspectorate has also been informed. A spokesman said: “We are aware of an investigation being undertaken by the local authority. The Care inspectorate will not be involved until social work and/or police have concluded their enquiries. We will then be informed of the outcome of that.”
