Inverclyde health and care chief appointed
THE new chief of Inverclyde Community Health and Care Partnership has been appointed, it was announced today.
Brian Moore will take up the key role following the retirement of the current director, Robert Murphy, at the end of May.
Mr Moore, who is currently the organisation’s head of community care and health, will take up his new post at the beginning of June.
He previously held a number of senior management positions with South Lanarkshire Council.
Mr Moore says he is ‘looking forward to the challenges his new role will bring’.
He said: “I am delighted to have been offered this appointment and am looking forward to the challenge of building on the existing strengths of Inverclyde CHCP, further developing integrated working between health and social care and delivering improved outcomes for all individuals that Inverclyde CHCP work with and support.”
Health board and council chiefs say they are pleased to have found a replacement for Mr Murphy and praised the outgoing boss as he gets set to step down.
Robert Calderwood, the chief executive, of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: “Brian is an excellent appointee to this post.
“He is very well placed, thanks to his already long service and experience in managing social work services, to drive forward our joint vision for thoroughly integrated health and social care services in Inverclyde.
“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Rab Murphy for all his support in delivering an integrated health and social care service to meet the changing needs of local service users.”
Inverclyde Council chief executive John Mundell said: “I am delighted that Brian will be taking up this post.
“He has both the professional and local knowledge to ensure we continue to deliver and further develop high quality services. “I would also like to give a big thanks to Rab Murphy for successfully establishing our CHCP and for all of his many years of loyal and hard work in social care within Inverclyde.”
