Improvements at Perth nursery
PERTH’S Wonderland Nursery has been upgraded by high-level inspectors. The Whitefriars Crescent-based nursery, which is owned and managed by Little Einsteins Kindergarten Limited, caters for babies and children aged up to 14 years and can accommodate 180 children at any one time.
In a recent report by SCSWIS (Social Care and Social Work in Scotland) the venue received three good grades for quality of care and support, environment, staffing and an adequate for management and leadership.
The grades are an improvement from last year when two categories – support and leadership – were seen as weak.
Acting manager Gillian Cargill said yesterday: “I am really happy that the nursery has been upgraded and these new grades are testimony to the commitment and dedication of our staff. We are by no means complacent but it is welcome feedback following our continued efforts over the past year.
“Our programme of enhancements in facilities and processes is a signal of our commitment to improving yet further the existing levels of care we provide.”
The nursery’s owner Arti Poddar added: “First-class education and care for every child is at the heart of our mission and together with my new team I relish the opportunity to drive our services forward to become a standard-setter for the nursery sector in Scotland.”
