Addaction opens service in Stranraer

A NEW service to help those inflicted by an addiction has opened in Stranraer this week.

Addaction, known nationally for its services to drug and alcohol users and their families, hopes to offer support and assistance to all who need it.

Andrew Horne, Director of Operations, said: “Addaction is pleased to formally open our new premises in Stranraer. We really appreciate the support that we get from the community in our vital work helping individuals and families affected by drug and alcohol use. In Scotland problematic drug and alcohol use touches every one of us and for this reason we need a joined up approach to help individuals, families and communities in their recovery.

“In Dumfries and Galloway we are happy to report that there is real partnership working between Addaction Scotland, the NHS, social work and voluntary sector colleagues.”
