Snap inspection finds Haddington nursery in good shape

Haddington Infant School Nursery got top marks from inspectors from Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland.

Alison Precup turned up at the nursery unannounced and her inspection was completed on September 6.

She judged the facility “very good” for quality of care and support, and quality of staffing.

Ms Precup said that in line with its aims and objectives, the service offered children a safe and stimulating environment with a wide range of activities and resources to promote their interest and development. The staff, she felt, had very good relationships with parents and carers, and feedback in the Care Standards Questionnaires reflected this.

The children were observed to be relaxed and happy, and staff were meeting their needs.

The nursery service identified that it would continue to look at “innovative ways” to keep parents, children and staff at the heart of all they did.
