Call for nominations for Scottish Social Work Awards
BASW Scotland is calling on social workers from across the country to nominate social workers who they feel deserve to receive a prestigious award for their professional endeavour.
Following an enormously successful awards event in Edinburgh Castle last year, BASW Scotland is once again set to honour the efforts of social workers in three categories:
- Social Worker of the Year
- Residential Care Worker of the Year
- Student Social Worker of the Year (based on their practice placement)
Nominating a friend or colleague is easy. Simply download the nomination form [www.basw.co.uk/scotland/] and cite three good reasons why the person deserves to win the BASW Scotland Award, which comes with a prize comprising a European City Break, a trophy to keep and a year’s free membership of BASW.
Each nomination should be supported by a line manager or employer, a user of services and another person such as a colleague or carer. All nominations should be received by BASW Scotland no later than 30 November 2010.
The Awards ceremony will take place on Social Work Action Day – 15 March 2011 – in Glasgow.
