North Lanarkshire carers get a boost from new centre
A new centre offering support and training for foster and adoptive carers has opened in North Lanarkshire.
The Children’s Carers Centre, based in the former Mitchell Street children’s house in Airdrie, was opened by North Lanarkshire Council.
The council has restructured its fostering and adoption support service, bringing together a specialist team of staff from the social work service who will be based at the new centre.
The centre provides a meeting and training room, a crèche, and computers, as well a drop-in service for carers.
Councillor Barry McCulloch, convener of housing and social work, said: “This excellent facility in Airdrie means carers can find all the help they need in one location.”
