Volunteering award win for Edinburgh council team
A TEAM within The City of Edinburgh Council has become the first in Scotland to win a volunteering award. The health and social care department was handed the UK Investing in Volunteers prize.
As part of the award, 110 people who give up their time for the local authority were asked about their views and experiences of volunteering.
Councillor Paul Edie, the city’s health and social care leader, said: “Volunteering is a worthwhile and rewarding role, and it is this dedication from volunteers and those working with them that has led to them being the first in Scotland to win such an esteemed award.”
