Moffat residential care unit seeks planning approval
A residential unit in southern Scotland for children with learning difficulties has been recommended to be approved. Moffat company, Meadowfield Care, wants to build the facility at land next to Upper Stepford Farm near Dunscore.
The plans include both indoor and outdoor horse-riding arenas, a stable block and a log cabin.
Nearly 200 letters have been lodged with Dumfries and Galloway Council about the plans – 123 objecting to the scheme but 69 in favour.
The authority’s Nithsdale area committee will meet in the new year to discuss the proposals.
Planning officials have recommended approval for the project but with a lengthy list of conditions.
