Funding package announced for Rosendael veterans home
DISCUSSIONS between Dundee City Council officials and the Scottish Veterans Housing Association may have found a solution to the funding shortfall at a Broughty Ferry ex-servicemen’s residence.
The Rosendael Veterans’ Residence was faced with losing its £118,000 funding from the local authority after the social work department said the accommodation did not meet the criteria for funding and a recommendation was made to councillors that funding should be stopped.
The decision to withdraw money was put on hold after supporters of the home and some councillors voiced their disapproval of about the plans.
However, Dundee City Council leader Ken Guild has said a package of measures that would allow the residence to continue to operate is being finalised.
It is thought this new package could provide even more funding than that provided by the council at the moment.
