Stirling Council is to get rid of 66 management and 50 admin posts
The local authority said compulsory redundancies would be a last resort after it had looked at voluntary severance and redeployment.
The council believes the cuts and restructuring will give savings of £2.2m in the current financial year.
It is also trying to save money by reviewing how social care for adults and children is delivered. The three projects are expected to save the council £5m this financial year.
The council is also looking to improve the way it buys goods and services.
Council leader Graham Houston said: ‘These new structures will give us a leaner, more streamlined and more cost efficient management function and are the first step in transforming Stirling Council.
‘When we took over last March we were determined to have a root and branch review of the organisation, to ensure it was fit for purpose and that we were providing value for money to the tax payer.’
