Learning Disability Flats Open In Edinburgh
A NEW service for people with a learning disability is set to open in Corstorphine. The service will provide care and support for six young people with a severe or complex learning disability.
Operated by Carr-Gomm Scotland, the service will provide young people with specially adapted flats in a new housing development.
This new project has been funded in part by £1.5 million of council money.
Councillor Paul Edie, the city’s health and social care leader, said: “Improving services for people with a learning disability is one of the top priorities for this administration.
“I am determined that we should offer a wide range of high-quality care options for our clients and this is why we have invested an additional £2 million into this area in the last two years.
“I look forward to working in partnership with Carr-Gomm Scotland in providing this service in the west of the city.”
