Bid To Clarify Disability Sector Needs

Organisations working in the disability sector in Dundee are being urged to take part in a nationwide charity research project.

Social care charity Quarriers wants to identify organisations and groups working in the Dundee City Council area so they can provide a clearer picture of the disability sector across Scotland.

Quarriers have asked groups to complete an on-line survey by visiting www.quarriers.org.uk/ mapping.

By quantifying the local organisations of various regions across the country, the charity hopes to develop a clear picture of the sector and identify issues needing to be addressed.

So far, 42 organisations in the city have been identified in the Scottish Government-commissioned project but many have yet to register their full details on the special database.

The project, which began in April, is in two stages and will end in March next year.

The Quarriers team, working in partnership with Lucy Johnston Research, is being led by service director David Williams.

He said, “We would encourage organisations working in this area to get in touch and ensure their organisation is included in this database.

Organisations can contact Lucy Johnston or Anna Barton at Quarriers by email on [email protected] or [email protected] for further information.
