Snubbed Homeless Football Champs Finally Honoured

Scotland’s victorious Homeless World Cup Team are to finally receive official recognition after a series of humiliating snubs. Ministers will hold a reception for the players at the Scottish Parliament next month following a number of official knock-backs for the team.

The side, managed by former homeless world cup player David Duke, became the first British team to win the trophy but received more media attention in Brazil than in Scotland. They brought home the Homeless World Cup after beating Poland 9-3 in Copenhagen earlier this month.

But so far they have received no recognition from the Scottish Football Association and this week Edinburgh’s Lord Provost George Grubb refused to support a move for a civic reception in the Capital.
