Scottish Mental Health Film Festival To Launch In October
Glasgow is set to host the first Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film festival, in celebration of World Mental Health Day. With one in four people experiencing a mental health trouble at some point in their life, it’s a ripe area for exploration.
The festival aims to explore meaning and myth in relation to mental health, Scotland’s history of asylum and the history of rights, through to current concepts of recovery and well-being. Over 30 events will be held across the city and beyond, including:
- Documentaries
- Movies
- Drama
- Music
- Visual Arts
- Testimony
- Debate and Research
- Creative and Media Workshops
The festival will take place over two weeks: 4th to 18th October 2007. Part of the festival will involve an open call for film submissions from across Scotland, the UK, and even internationally. If you are an individual or group interested in filmmaking and mental health, visit the website for more information on how to submit your film for consideration.
