Scots Show Brave Hearts In Face Of Mental Health Issues
Choose Life has made an appeal for people with mental health issues in Scotland to share their feelings and sign a pledge to be more open about feelings in general.
While a number of people who face mental illness may feel like there is nothing worth living for, Choose Life aims to promote the fact that people can find help.
Not discussing problems can lead to an escalation in worries and people’s overall health and mental health deteriorating, but Choose Life believes that if only more people shared their troubles, lives could be saved.
Although it requires courage, Choose Life says that not only discussing mental health issues but also a commitment on the part of those who are not affected would make a huge difference. Sensitive listening and empathy towards people who need support could help save a life, the organisation claims.
Choose Life is now urging people from all walks of life to sign up to the ‘Talk. Listen. Save Lives’ pledge and confirm their support for bringing hope to the lives of those who are experiencing difficulties. In September, all those who have submitted photographs will feature in a collage to mark Suicide Prevention Week.
