Scots Man In US Over Drug Charges

An Aberdeen man is expected to appear in court in San Francisco after being extradited to the US on charges of supplying date rape drugs. David Calder, 36, lost a lengthy battle against his extradition in February.

He is accused by the US authorities of supplying ingredients to make the drug GHB, as well as knowing the materials were to be used to make the drug.

Mr Calder was arrested in June 2004 by Scottish police. Judges ruled that he should be sent to the US for trial.
