Plans For New Care Home Revealed

Plans for a new £874,000 care centre for people with physical disabilities have been unveiled in West Lothian. The council’s health and care committee has approved proposals to set up a care complex and supported housing development at Uphall.

The new unit will provide a wide range of care and support services for up to 12 people. Committee convener councillor Bruce Ferrie said the development would ensure that community needs were met.

He said: “Currently there is no residential or respite provision specifically designated for people with physical disabilities within West Lothian.

“The new centre will offer residential provision for long-term placements, respite provision, day care and individual housing tenancies for people who need a package of care and support.”
