Social Work Adviser Gets To Work

Work has started to draw up an action plan to improve social services in Dumfries and Galloway. Adviser Stephen Wilds has begun a six-month contract with the council after a critical performance report by the Social Work Inspection Agency. Inspectors made a total of 24 recommendations to improve social work performance in the region. Council chiefs said Mr Wilds had a proven track record in dealing with similar problems across the UK.
