New Funding Guide For The Voluntary Sector
The Voluntary Sector Social Services Workforce Unit have published a free funding guide for the voluntary sector. ‘Navigating the Funding Streams 2’ is a guide to acquiring funding for learning and development in voluntary sector social services organisations. The guide contains:
• Tips for completing application forms and attracting funding;
• Details of more than forty funding sources and training courses (many of which are free or subsidised for the voluntary sector) that will support prior learning requirements, registration and additional learning and development needs such as Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) requirements;
• Information on applying for loans for learning and development;
• Updates on the major initiatives and drivers for workforce development, such as the Strategic Funding Review, Learning Networks, and Skills for Care and Development.
The Workforce Unit’s Information and Policy Officer Neil Macleod said: “Funding remains a key issue for the voluntary sector.
Some voluntary organisations are spending in excess of £6,000 to support each candidate through an SVQ whilst maintaining required staffing levels. ‘Navigating the Funding Streams 2’ aims to help organisations access the key sources of funding to meet registration costs and support employees’ continuous professional development.”
