SSSC issue warning over unofficial smartphone and tablet apps
The Scottish Social services Council (SSSC) has issued a warning to care workers over unofficial versions of some of their learning resource apps.
The regualtor has reported that unauthorised websites have made what appear to be Android versions of some of their apps and are making these available for download.
The SSSC say they cannot verify the safety or security of these apps and they may pose a serious risk to your device and network security.
The advice is that you should only ever download SSSC apps from the official app stores:
- Google Play
- Apple App Store.
They also suggest the best way to make sure you’re downloading the SSSC official apps is to go to the official app store by using the links at their Learning Zone page.
If you need further guidance, you can email [email protected] and they’ll be happy to advise before you download.
