Arbroath woman charged with attempted murder after baby seriously injured

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a six-month-old baby suffered serious injuries.

The baby girl is in a serious condition in hospital after allegedly being injured in Arbroath, Angus, on or around Saturday April 28.

Shannon Soutter, 22, was charged with assault to severe injury, permanent impairment, danger to life and attempted murder when she appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday.

She did not enter a plea and was committed for further examination and released on bail.
